MAGICSALEMAN GRADING CARDS GUIDE :
GEM MINT
- A GEM MINT card will also be perfectly centered and have no printing spots or anything that would possibly keep it from being a perfect card. Some Older cards, for example the Unlimited ones have two horizontal lines across them, since it is so common it does not remove it from being GEM MINT too. This type of quality is only used for Vintage Editions.
- MINT :
A card rated MINT is an unplayed perfect condition card. It will have that fresh from the pack look. The edges show absolutely no wear although often on older cards there will be slight deviations on the edges created when the card was cut. The edges will be sharp and may be slightly curled up created from when it was cut. MINT refers to condition so a small printing spot can be allowed. Some Older cards, for example the Unlimited ones have two horizontal lines across them, since it is so common it does not remove it from being MINT.
- NM-M (Near Mint-Mint) :
Most of our cards are graded NM-M condition. It is our basicaly qualities for all of our cards. Thoses cards show basically no wear from shuffling. Most cards from the newest sets with a NM-M condition are of course strait from the pack. A NM-M may have a tiny edge nick and possible a tiny scratch or two but is otherwise unused. For indication of qualities for the tournaments, those cards can be played without sleeves ...
- NM - (NEAR MINT MINUS).
Same case as the NM-M ones but those cards have sometimes a tiny edge nick and possible a tiny scratch or two but is otherwise unused. So almost perfect, except if you check it more longer or with a better light. For indication of qualities for the tournaments, those cards can be played without sleeves ...
- Slightly Played (SPLD) :
The Slightly Played condition grade is usually only used on cards that are not really NM Minus and not really a played condition PLD). Slightly Played cards will have a little edge wear from shuffling. The middle of the card will sometimes not have any whitening but may have a very very few small scratches. So it is not a PLD ones but the status of those cards can be consider as beter as PLD and not really a NM Minus ones. For indication of qualities for the tournaments, those cards be ALMOST played without sleeves ...
- PLD (Played) :
When a card starts to show wear from shuffling or if you see that the borders have some white spots or are a little used it is a Played card. Most of the cards graded as Played would fall into the Slightly Played grade if this was used on them. Played condition cards will usually have wear from shuffling on the edges and possibly in the middle of the card. A Played card may also have some little surface scratches on them. Cards that have been stamped from pro events are graded Played too. We have sometimes some of them in stock. For indication of qualities for the tournaments, those cards must be played with sleeves.
- PLD - (Played Minus) :
Same case as the Played ones but here it is clearely show that thoses cards are used and have been played more heavily. So the bords of those cards are very used, show perhaps have been inked, bigger creases, corners are very used etc... So minus conditions than the PLD ones. For indication of qualities for the tournaments, those cards MUST be played without any choice with sleeves.
- GOOD :
This type of quality cards show that they are very used and have been played very heavily. Bords are very white, some white spots are present on the back and front side of the cards. The corners are very used and there's a possible presence on some notable big scratchs. But those ones are not really Poor. For indication of qualities for the tournaments, those cards MUST be played without any choice with sleeves.
- POOR :
Cards rated as Poor condition can have any amount of wear. The only guarantee with a Poor condition card is that you will be able to tell what the card is. Creases, a corner is bend (even if the rest of the card is NM-M sometimes), rip make a card Poor condition too, or some bords has been inked, or the cards has some deteriorations due to humidity. Poor is so the badest condition for our cards.
- PSA :
We Guarantees that any card listed as MINT or GEM MINT condition will be sometimes graded a 9 or 10 if it is graded by a third party grading service like PSA US.
NB : For some cards that I have in stock, I notify sometimes to be easiler those grading conditions : MINT / NM / NM - or also NM / NM - / SPLD etc... So you will received perhaps 2 Mint / 1 NM / 1 SPLD or 2 NM / 1 NM - / 1 SPLD.
